This is a club size chess set with a 4.4 tall king and with a unique and elegant knight that distinguishes this set from all others. The fine detail carved into the knight is exquisite with special attention paid to the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. The replication of the carvers work from knight to knight is remarkable. The red sandalwood is gorgeous with a blend of rich colors that range from coral red to dark burgundy. The ebony is pure black and polished to a smooth, glossy shine. Matched together, the red sandalwood and ebony are a striking combination. The king, queen, and bishops have columns with proportionate width and a graceful curve. The king has 4 different finials that can be interchanged according to your personal taste. The queen's crown is turned to the ideal thickness and has 12 sharp points that are perfectly spaced. The bishop miter is large with a wide slot that is rounded from one side to the other. The rooks are tall standing even with the top of the knight's head and have an attractive shallow parapet with perfectly cut crenels. The pawns are large and heavy with wide, thin collars.
